Be a Part of Art History

It’s your last chance to visit a historical and local collection at
the Norton Museum. The special exhibition “In the Hands of African
American Collectors: The Personal Treasures of Bernard and Shirley
Kinsey” closes July 20.
The collection has been viewed by more than 6,000 public school
students, and more than 500 principals, guidance counselors and
teachers. Now it’s your turn, when the exhibit closes with a
weekend-long extravaganza.
A family day is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, from noon – 5 p.m. at
B106.3 Kinsey Family Day – A Day in History. The Kinseys will discuss
their collections and personally lead tours. Children can create art
projects and go on treasure hunts throughout the galleries. Later,
catch a screening of “The Great Debaters” featuring Denzel Washington.
Then, on Sunday, July 20, from 1:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. families can
participate in a funday project, “Every Portrait Tells a Story,” hear
a concert by the Ebony Chorale of the Palm Beaches and join the
Kinseys on their last Collectors’ Tour.
